House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that after ensuring a ban on the Federal Reserve issuing digital currency would be added to the National Defense Authorization Act later this year, the leadership convinced them to move forward with the stablecoin bill. According to two people familiar with the matter who requested anonymity, Trump made a last-minute call to receive a briefing on the developments.
