No Signs of Easing in U.S. Naval Blockade of Iranian Ports On May 24, recordings from the public radio channels of vessels near the Strait of Hormuz indicated that the U.S. military continued to issue warning shots at ships entering and exiting Iranian ports, with no signs of easing in the maritime blockade. Recordings provided by crew members on stranded vessels showed that the U.S. military fired warning shots at a ship that was forced to remain in the waters near Iran's Chabahar port. The London-based maritime analysis firm Windward stated on the 24th that despite reports of a potential agreement between the U.S. and Iran, there had been no significant changes in the traffic situation in the Strait of Hormuz. Satellite images obtained by the company showed that large oil tankers were still anchored near Iranian islands such as Larak Island in the northern part of the Strait of Hormuz or at key locations in the shipping lanes, with only a small number of vessels, primarily small cargo ships, moving in and out of the strait.
