Spot Ethereum ETF Race is Now On | Crypto Daily Digest Sep. 7
Asset managers Ark Invest and 21Shares have submitted an application for a spot Ethereum ETF with the US SEC, marking the official start of the race for an Ethereum spot ETF, according to Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart.
VanEck and Ark Invest Kick Off Competition for First Spot Ethereum ETF in US
Seyffart anticipates that more spot Ethereum ETF applications will be filed in the coming days. He also noted that VanEck, one of the world's largest ETF issuers, applied for an Ethereum spot ETF back in 2021 and is still awaiting a decision.
Last month, the SEC signaled its intention to approve Ethereu m futures investment products, leading to a total of 12 Ethereum futures ETF applications. At the meantime, Bloomberg estimates a 75% chance of approval for a Bitcoin spot ETF this year.
