According to CoinDesk, investors may reconsider Ethereum this year as it remains the leading smart contract blockchain with ongoing key upgrades and is widely seen as a potential candidate for a spot ETF in the United States. Coinbase stated in its weekly newsletter: "Ethereum could have a breakthrough year. The news of the Bitcoin ETF last week was good news for Ethereum, which surged to over $2700, reaching its highest point since May 2022. We have reasons to be more optimistic about ETH's near-term prospects. Firstly, several companies behind the Bitcoin ETF, including BlackRock and VanEck, are also planning Ethereum-based spot ETFs." Coinbase pointed out: "Ethereum's Dencun upgrade began preliminary testing on Wednesday and is expected to implement EIP-4844 in the coming months. Some ETH observers predict that this will help reduce network fees by 90% or more."
