Mina completed the testing plan for ensuring a seamless upgrade mechanism for Berkeley, and will subsequently upgrade Mina Devnet

The Mina development team O(1)Labs announced that they have completed the Upgrade Mechanism Testing (UMT) program with Mina Foundation to ensure a seamless transition for the Berkeley upgrade. The focus of this UMT program is to validate end-to-end and dry-running upgrade mechanisms and tools, which are part of the Berkeley upgrade. O(1)Labs stated that they will later upgrade Mina Devnet. The three main features of the Mina Berkeley upgrade include using o1js (previously known as SnarkyJS, a TypeScript library for writing zkApps) for ZK programming; enhancing security and efficiency with the Kimchi proof system in Mina; and removing supernormal rewards (a temporary incentive measure introduced in the early stages of mainnet staking).
