According to CoinShares data, so far in 2024, investors have withdrawn $738 million from Bitcoin investment tools on exchanges in Germany, Canada and Sweden. Purpose Investments Inc., headquartered in Toronto, launched a Bitcoin ETF product on the Toronto Stock Exchange at the beginning of 2021 with a management fee of 1%, four times higher than the equivalent fund approved by BlackRock at the beginning of January.
According to CoinShares' data, since the start of this year, inflows into BlackRock's Bitcoin Trust Fund have exceeded $12 billion while outflows from Purpose Investment stand at $369 million. Stéphane Ouellette, CEO of FRNT Financial Inc., stated that as Bitcoin hits record highs most exiting investors are likely switching from one type of bitcoin product to another seeking lower management fees. American investors who previously tried to purchase bitcoin ETPs on other exchanges are very likely to redirect their investment funds back into U.S. ETFs.
