Con Kolivas, a software engineer and administrator of the independent mining pool ckpool, posted on social media that a miner had dug up the 282nd independent block in Bitcoin history. The miner's computing power at the time was about 120PH, equivalent to about 0.12 EH, with an average weekly rate of about 12 PH, accounting for approximately 0.02% of the total network hash rate. On April 20th when Bitcoin halved at block 840,000, the reward for solving block 841,286 decreased from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC; this means that based on the price of BTC at that time its value was approximately $200,000.
