In April, both Bitcoin and Ethereum options trading volumes reached historical highs again. The volume of Bitcoin options trading hit a new high of $47.3 billion, an increase of 1.2%; the volume of Ethereum options trading reached a new high of $26.32 billion, up by 25.4%. However, the open interest in Bitcoin options continued to decline by 15.5%, and Ethereum's holdings also fell by 7.1%. In terms of futures, the average monthly trading volume for Ethereum futures in April decreased to $691 billion, down by 22.6%. The decrease in open interest for Bitcoin futures in April was at 1.6%, while that for Ethereum futures fell by 17.7%; as for futures trading volumes, Bitcoin's dropped by 21.38% in April to about $1.59 trillion dollars. Open interest on CME Group’s bitcoin future contracts decreased by23.7%in April , dropping to$8.9billion , with daily average transaction amount (daily avg volume) significantly reducedby30 .1%to around$4.8billion.
