MakerDAO, a decentralized lending protocol and the issuing protocol behind the stablecoin DAI, announced last Friday (12) that it would hold an open competition called "Spark Tokenization Grand Prix", planning to invest $1 billion of its reserves in tokenized U.S. Treasury bonds.

In this competition, top issuers including BUIDL, a tokenized fund of global asset management giant BlackRock, Ondo Finance, an RWA protocol, and Superstate, a crypto-native asset management company, all plan to submit applications to the tokenization competition. After the news of the three giants joining was released, MakerDAO's token MKR jumped 10% within 24 hours.

As an old DeFi project, MakerDAO has been updating the RWA track and the endgame plan this year. In May, it announced that the new stablecoin (codenamed NewStable, NST) and the new governance token (codenamed NewGovToken, NGT) launched at the beginning of this year will be issued soon and are expected to be launched in August.

Official addresses continue to dump goods

However, just as the price was rising, according to the analysis of Ai Yi, an on-chain data analyst, five hours ago, MakerDAO's multi-signature address transferred 500 MKR to the address 0x1cC…A5825 again. These tokens were then recharged into the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, worth about 1.4 million US dollars, suspected to be official shipments.

In the past three months, this address has transferred a total of 13,650 MKR to the exchange, worth about 38.46 million US dollars, and the average recharge price of these tokens is 2,817 US dollars per coin.
