Golden Finance reported that President Biden and his senior aides are in intense discussions this weekend to return to the campaign trail, in a last-ditch effort to save his re-election bid, despite urgent calls from Democratic colleagues for him to step aside. After testing positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, Biden has been isolating at his beachfront home in Delaware. Calls for him to withdraw from the race by Democratic lawmakers in both chambers have only intensified. Individuals closest to Biden have stated that despite continuous persuasion from some party leaders, his determination to seek re-election has grown stronger in recent days. However, rumors circulating in Washington about him announcing his withdrawal over the weekend have not subsided; even long-time allies of Biden believe that his path to re-election has reached a dead end. Just as speculation mounts that his campaign is nearing its end, Biden himself released a statement vowing to resume campaigning next week. Vice President Harris also assured Democratic donors that there is still hope for Biden's victory. Jennifer O'Malley Dillon, chair of the Biden campaign team, stated in a rare television interview that Biden is "more determined than ever before."
