Some users in the Polymarket community expect the platform to launch a token next year, and a significant number of traders are already trying to boff potential airdrops, Decrypt reports. At this stage, as the platform does not charge transaction or subscription fees, Polymarket may be considering a token to fuel the next phase of its potential growth and expansion following a funding round earlier this year.
Tyrael, an anonymous trader, says Polymarket will likely have a TGE campaign so that investors can get some return on their capital. According to Polymarket giant Fhantom Bets, the site has seen an increase in trading volume following a new capital infusion in its Series B funding round, further fueling the airdrop rumors.
While rumors of a Polymarket token release have yet to be officially confirmed or an expected release date announced, Fhantom Bets speculates that the token release will likely take place after the U.S. election.
