Musk's 'million-dollar sweepstakes' allowed to go ahead

On November 5, according to Jinshi, Musk's campaign to give away millions of dollars a day to voters before Tuesday's US presidential election escaped the legal challenge of the Philadelphia district attorney because a Pennsylvania judge refused to stop the behavior. Pennsylvania is a key swing state. A Pennsylvania judge rejected the local prosecutor's request to stop the competition, which he called an illegal lottery. Musk's lawyer said at the hearing that the winners of the competition were not randomly selected. The winners were selected based on whether they were "suitable" to be public spokespersons for Musk's political action committee, usually based on their personal stories. Shortly afterwards, the judge made a ruling without any arguments.
