According to Bloomberg, the founder of cryptocurrency mixing service Bitcoin Fog has been sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison for laundering tens of millions of dollars from the dark web market selling illegal drugs. Prosecutors claim that Bitcoin Fog handled billions of dollars in untraceable transactions, some of which came from known dark web markets. Roman Sterlingov was found guilty of conspiracy to launder money, money laundering, and two charges related to operating an unregistered remittance service.
