According to Reuters, Scott Hartman, the joint head of the Securities and Commodities Task Force at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, said that the office plans to reduce cases related to cryptocurrencies. Trump will shift the focus of the Department of Justice towards immigration issues. This does not mean that prosecutors will ignore crypto cases, but there will be fewer staff handling these cases compared to 2022. Scott Hartman stated: "After a cryptocurrency winter, we took over many major cases and many important fraud cases. But we know our regulatory partners are very active in this field and we don't have much manpower."
