Dana M. Peterson, Chief Economist at the World Federation of Large Businesses, said, ‘U.S. consumer confidence continued to improve in November, reaching its highest level in the past two years. November's increase was largely due to a more positive assessment of the current situation, particularly with respect to the labour market. Consumer optimism about future employment opportunities also improved considerably compared to October, reaching its highest level in nearly three years. At the same time, consumers' expectations for future business conditions were unchanged, while optimism about future earnings declined slightly.’ In previous news, the Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index for the U.S. registered 111.7 in November, a new high since July 2023.
