Yuga Labs co-founder Garga.eth (Greg Solano) posted on X saying, "Launching a token on Solana, toly and raj (Solana co-founders) will welcome you with open arms. But launching a token on Ethereum, podcasters will shout that NFTs are securities, and they have been allocated in all scam infrastructures."
In response to this, Base Protocol head Jesse Pollak said: "Or you can come to the Base chain where you can get all the connections with Ethereum and receive strong support from the consumer product ecosystem from day one. We need to stop comparing Solana and L1; unity is strength."
Garga.eth responded by saying: "Don't misunderstand me. I love ETH. Over the years, I've helped many users enter the ETH ecosystem on-chain; ApeChain is also on ETH.
I greatly respect what Base has done but solving ETH's cultural problem starts with not letting those podcasters who spent years attacking real culture builders succeed. In fact, these podcasters have been criticizing NFT projects and Meme coins for years.
Just want to say that once they scare away anyone capable of looking around and finding no one using what they think is the only legitimate scam infrastructure on blockchain then maybe it'll be time for them shouting 'We need to bring Meme coin energy onto Base chain!' And start promoting low market cap Meme coins. This is absurd."
