Messari predicts that Solana will experience explosive growth in 2025

According to Messari's 2025 Crypto Theses report, Solana may have another strong year. It pointed out that in the third quarter of 2024, Solana's ecosystem financing amount was $173 million, a high point since the second quarter of 2022. In addition, a spot SOL ETF seems increasingly inevitable. The regulatory environment will be more relaxed, which could potentially drive explosive growth driven by institutional interest. Some analysts even predict that the price of SOL will reach $4,000.

Meanwhile, the Firedancer client was deployed on the Solana mainnet this year. Firedancer comes from Jump Trading and is a high-performance validator client that can optimize transaction speed and scalability on this blockchain. The initial version will be rolled out in phases focusing only on changes at the network layer while subsequent versions should expand functionality and further improve Solana's overall performance and reliability.

The full deployment plan for Firedancer is expected to be completed by 2025 which could significantly enhance client diversity on the SOL network and increase activity and security as it reduces reliance on single-client codebases. However, Messari added that its potential direct impact might be limited because other clients' deployments would continue to face bottlenecks meaning it would still take time for Firedancer to unleash its full potential.
