CoinGecko: The top three most popular crypto narratives among investors in 2024 are Meme coins, AI, and RWA

BlockBeats reports that on December 24, according to CoinGecko statistics, the top three most popular crypto narratives among investors in 2024 were Memecoin, AI and RWA. Memecoin ranked first in popularity, accounting for 14.36% of investor interest in crypto narratives, an increase of 6.04 percentage points from last year's interest share of 8.32%.

At the same time, the overall narrative of AI ranked second in popularity with an investor interest share of 12.58%. Although it increased by 1.26 percentage points from last year's interest share of 11.32%, it still did not surpass Memecoin. In addition to the overall AI narrative and AI Meme coin trend, the AI proxy narrative also entered the top 20 with a shareholder interest rate of 1.17%.

Compared with the previous year, other popular crypto narratives that received more attention in 2024 are Real World Assets (RWA) and DePIN narratives. The RWA narrative increased its share of investor interest by 2.16 percentage points from a total of 6.48% in 2023 to 8.64% in 2024 which led its ranking rise from sixth place to third place.
