President Donald Trump signed an order on Thursday creating a cryptocurrency task force, fulfilling a campaign promise he made after raising money from digital asset companies and promising to become a “cryptocurrency president,” Goldcorp reported. The task force is said to be developing a federal regulatory framework for managing digital assets, including stablecoins, and evaluating the creation of a strategic national digital asset reserve. As previously announced, the Crypto Council is expected to advise on digital asset policy, work with Congress on crypto legislation, help build Trump's promised Bitcoin Reserve, and coordinate collaboration between agencies including the SEC, CFTC, and Treasury Department.
