Google cancels the commitment "not to use AI for weapons and surveillance"

Bitget2025/02/05 03:54

According to The Information, Google has officially terminated its six-year-old policy commitment not to use artificial intelligence for weapons or surveillance. According to Google's latest policy, the company will responsibly use AI by "implementing appropriate human supervision, due diligence and feedback mechanisms" in order to meet user goals, social responsibilities and widely accepted international laws and human rights principles. James Manyika, Senior Vice President of Google Research Department and AI head Demis Hassabis stated in an article that democratic countries should guide the development of AI under core values. Notably, OpenAI also made a similar policy adjustment early last year.
