The Solana memecoin launchpad Pump.fun unveiled Friday a mobile app supporting iOS and Android devices.
The launch allows users to buy, sell and create coins for free from their mobile device. In addition, Pump.fun users can make watchlists and manage their digital portfolio in-app, the platform wrote on the social media platform X.
However, Pump.fun's mobile app will not be available to residents in the UK. In December 2024, the UK's financial regulator Financial Conduct Authority admonished users against using Pump.fun and to "beware of scams," as the platform may not be operating or providing financial services without the regulator's permission.
Pump.fun has faced legal troubles in the United States as well. Two law firms in the U.S. sued the platform over intellectual property infringement, and another case against Pump.fun alleges the platform violates securities laws.
Despite its legal and regulatory predicaments, Pump.fun remains one of the most popular platforms for launching memecoins. It netted a high daily fee volume of $15.5 million just one year after its launch, as well as $7.61 million on Feb. 13, The Block's Data Dashboard shows.
