Trump officially announces: Will proceed as scheduled with tariff plan on Mexico and Canada

On Monday (24th) local time, US President Trump stated that the US plan to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada will "proceed as scheduled", with the previous one-month "deferment measures" set to expire next week. At a press conference at the White House that day, when asked whether the delayed tariffs on these two American trade partners would soon be reinstated, Trump said, "The tariffs are proceeding on time and according to plan," and it seems to be progressing "very quickly." Trump also claimed that the United States has been taken advantage of by foreign countries in "almost all aspects" and has been treated “very badly” by many trade partners, not just Canada and Mexico.
