Golden Finance reports that Marek Moraczyński, head of the Ethereum client Nethermind, posted on platform X stating that over 80% of the disk space of all Ethereum nodes is occupied by historical records. Therefore, data is not needed to verify new blocks. In the new version 1.3.1, Nethermind has prepared to delete pre-merger history records through ERA files and all teams have agreed to carry out related operations on May 1st. If all blocks and receipts are deleted and only data required for verifying the latest block is retained, the full node capacity will be less than 200 GB.
