French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau will convene cryptocurrency industry professionals this Friday to discuss how to prevent the increasing number of kidnappings targeting cryptocurrency entrepreneurs. This move comes in response to an incident in central Paris where armed individuals attempted to kidnap the daughter and grandson of a CEO of a cryptocurrency exchange platform. Recently, France has seen several violent kidnapping cases targeting cryptocurrency tycoons, including the malicious incident where David Balland, co-founder of Ledger, was kidnapped and had his fingers severed. The Interior Minister stated that measures will be taken to protect cryptocurrency practitioners and their families, while promising to track down the criminals "no matter where they are hiding."
