In 2024, Tether reserves across all exchanges significantly increased, reaching a peak in February at $43.696 billion. This increase in Stablecoin Reserves generally indicates increased buying power in the market and is often accompanied by explosive Bitcoin and altcoin rallies. However, the decrease in Tether reserves in 2025 suggests a reduction in buying power, which could explain the slowdown in the altcoin market cap growth.
