According to a report by Jinse Finance, monitored by the on-chain security analysis agency PeckShield, approximately 20 major cryptocurrency security incidents occurred in May 2025, resulting in a total loss of $244.1 million, a decrease of 39.29% compared to the previous month. Among them, the Cetus protocol suffered a loss of $220 million, making it the largest incident of the month. Currently, the Cetus protocol and SUI have successfully frozen $157 million of the stolen funds, with the remaining $63 million still in the attacker's wallet. Other significant incidents include a $12 million attack on the Cork protocol, a suspected North Korea-related hacking incident causing a $5.2 million loss, and losses of $2.2 million and $1.2 million for MBU tokens and MaplestoryU, respectively.
