On the 12th, People’s Daily published an article under the “Zhong Sheng” column, stating that China approaches economic and trade consultations with sincerity, but also with firm principles. As a responsible major power, China takes the Geneva economic and trade talks consensus seriously, implements it strictly, and actively safeguards it. At this meeting, China once again made clear its firm stance and attitude on implementing the consensus and requirements reached by the two heads of state, and on jointly preserving the hard-won outcomes of dialogue. The US side also stated that it will act in accordance with the requirements of the two leaders’ phone call, work together with China, and jointly implement the “London Framework.” It is hoped that the US, like China, will honor its words with actions, demonstrate good faith in keeping its commitments, and make concrete efforts to fulfill the consensus, so as to resolve bilateral economic and trade issues through equal dialogue.
