Iranian President says Israel, not the US, is behind assassination attempt on him
on July 7th local time, Iranian President Pezeshkiyan claimed in an interview with American media person Tucker Carlson that Israel attempted to assassinate him during the 12-day conflict between the two countries last month. Pezeshkiyan responded to the question of whether he believed Israel had tried to assassinate him, saying that Israel "did try, took appropriate action," but "failed." Pezeshkiyan claimed that the mastermind behind the assassination attempt was not the United States, but Israel. Israel launched attacks on Iranian targets on June 13th, followed by retaliation from Iran. After the outbreak of the conflict, both sides launched multiple rounds of attacks. This round of conflict resulted in the deaths of senior Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists. Israel currently has no response.
