ChainCatcher news, according to a report by FORTUNE CRYPTO, John Egan, head of crypto at Stripe, has announced his departure and will join Polygon Labs as Chief Product Officer (CPO) on Tuesday. Egan previously led several major crypto acquisitions and initiatives at Stripe, including the $1.1 billion acquisition of stablecoin startup Bridge (completed in February this year), the acquisition of crypto wallet company Privy, and collaborating with Paradigm to develop Stripe's own blockchain, Tempo.
He stated that he chose to join Polygon because he is optimistic about its leading position in stablecoin micropayments. According to Artemis Analytics data, in July this year, Polygon had 4.5 million active addresses using stablecoin transactions, surpassing Ethereum's 2.9 million, with users being closer to "everyday payment" scenarios.
