This article reports on the collaboration between Cactus Custody, the compliant digital asset custody institution under Matrixport, and Singapore Gulf Bank (SGB). The partnership aims to provide institutional clients with compliant and efficient fiat custody and instant deposit and withdrawal services to meet the needs of connectivity between digital assets and traditional finance.

Hong Kong, September 16 - Matrixport’s compliant digital asset custody institution Cactus Custody, which holds a Hong Kong TCSP license, has announced a partnership with Singapore Gulf Bank (SGB). Leveraging SGB’s banking infrastructure, the two parties will provide institutional clients with regulatory-compliant fiat custody and 24/7 instant deposit and withdrawal services, meeting the market’s core demand for efficiency and helping institutions deploy funds securely and efficiently. As a bank friendly to the crypto industry, SGB offers stable and continuous banking services within the existing regulatory framework.

This collaboration is based on SGB’s banking infrastructure, combined with its self-developed SGB Net real-time transfer capabilities and proprietary API, to promote the automation and standardization of Cactus Custody’s fund flows. This upgrade enables a transition from supporting only digital asset settlements to also having fiat settlement capabilities, providing institutional clients with a more efficient, convenient, and compliant fund management experience.

Wendy Jiang, General Manager of Cactus Custody, stated: The collaboration with SGB further strengthens our fiat channels and custody capabilities for institutions. With bank-level infrastructure and standardized processes, clients can manage multiple types of assets and funds more efficiently and coordinate their operational pace better, all under a compliant framework.

Jireh Chua, Chief Development Officer of Singapore Gulf Bank, said: “SGB is committed to providing robust and compliant banking services to the innovative finance sector. Through integration with Cactus Custody, we will open up our banking infrastructure and open API capabilities to more institutional clients, helping them complete fiat fund transfers securely and efficiently on a global scale.

The two parties will continue to enhance relevant capabilities under the premise of compliance and risk control, steadily advancing the construction of future-oriented financial infrastructure.

As the crypto market recovers in 2025, Digital Asset Treasury (DAT) firms and protocol token buybacks are drawing increasing attention. DAT refers to public companies accumulating crypto assets as part of their treasury. This model enhances shareholder returns through yield and price appreciation, while avoiding the direct risks of holding crypto. Similar to an ETF but more active, DAT structures can generate additional income via staking or lending, driving NAV growth. Protocol token buybacks, such as those seen with HYPE, LINK, and ENA, use protocol revenues to automatically repurchase and burn tokens. This reduces circulating supply and creates a deflationary effect. Key drivers for upside include institutional capital inflows and potential Fed rate cuts, which would stimulate risk assets. Combined with buyback mechanisms that reinforce value capture, these assets are well-positioned to lead in the next market rebound.
