According to ChainCatcher, as reported by Ledger Insights, Bank Negara Malaysia has launched a three-year real-world asset tokenization exploration program and established a Digital Asset Innovation Center and an industry working group. The aim is to solicit feedback on potential use cases ranging from supply chain finance to Islamic financial products.
The central bank's latest report outlines a phased implementation plan: proof-of-concept and pilot projects will be conducted in 2026, followed by an expansion of the trials in 2027. The bank has invited the industry to submit feedback on application cases by March 1, 2026, while also clearly defining which cases meet the experimental criteria.
