Cetus releases community update: Aggregator services are back online and different fund recovery scenarios are being simulated
Cetus, which was attacked by hackers and had $223 million stolen, released an update to the community, with the main disclosure including:
1. The affected funds consist of two parts: one part is internal to Sui, and the other part is mainly bridged to the ecosystem in the form of ETH.
2. The data recovery work of the Cetus protocol is actively in progress and is expected to take several hours.
3. The aggregator service has been restored online, supporting exchanges through partners such as Phantom and Binance Alpha. It has been confirmed that the Cetus CLMM pool that was not affected in this incident will resume operation after accurate position data is fully restored.
4. Actively discussing with the Sui Foundation and other community members to finalize key details of the recovery.
5. Advancing in two directions simultaneously: (1) Resolving the issue as soon as possible through white hat negotiations; (2) Actively collecting clues and evidence to recover funds through legal channels.
6. Simulating different recovery scenarios and designing technically feasible fund recovery and compensation plans.
7. Proposed an upgrade to the protocol through PoS voting to unlock and return most of the stolen funds currently frozen in the attacker's Sui wallet.
