Golem Network is an open-source platform that allows accessing digital resources through a lightweight protocol. Built on Ethereum's Layer 2, the network enables fast and cheap micropayments with the GLM token. Users can build unstoppable applications and rent digital resources without limitations, while providers can earn GLM tokens by renting out their idle computing power. Golem's long-term vision is to become a building block of Web 3.0, a completely decentralized network allowing users to securely and directly exchange content without sharing it with corporations or other middlemen.
Golem connects computers in a peer-to-peer network, enabling users to rent resources from other users' machines. The backbone of a decentralized market for computing power, Golem is both Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and allows developers to create and deploy software to the Golem network via the Application Registry. Golem's ecosystem comprises three groups: providers of computing resources, task creators, and software developers. Golem's marketplace will enable requestors to become providers, and diverse software running on the Golem network will be accessible from the Application Registry.
GLM token is a core component of the Golem network, which will have various functions such as conducting payments between requesters and providers, submitting deposits, and participating in software validation and certification. The specific parameters of these interactions will be defined within each software integration.
GLM has 1,000,000,000 tokens in total supply. All of them are in circulation.
