Democratic Candidate and Senator Elizabeth Warren has won a third six-year term in the U.S. Senate in the U.S. presidential elections. Elizabeth, who hails from Massachusetts, and is otherwise known for her harsh stance against cryptocurrencies, has once again solidified her position as a prominent progressive advocate in the state and Capitol Hill.
Republican John Deaton , a lawyer who relocated to the state from Rhode Island earlier this year, attempted to challenge Warren but was unsuccessful. Deaton attempted to make the former Harvard Law School professor seem disconnected from the average Bay State citizen.
Warren portrayed herself as a supporter of the struggling middle class and an opponent of laws that favored the rich. Despite finishing third in Massachusetts in her 2020 presidential campaign, she has maintained her popularity.
Sherrod Brown Lost Ohio Seat
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Warren associate and Senate Banking Committee chair, incumbent Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), was beaten by Republican businessman Bernie Moreno, increasing the likelihood that Republicans to regain control of the Senate.
For a large portion of the race, Moreno, 57, who established a prosperous chain of auto dealerships in Ohio, had fallen behind Brown, who is serving his third term in the Senate, in the polls. Former President Trump’s impressive showing at the top of the ticket helped propel him to victory. In Ohio, Trump is predicted to defeat Vice President Harris with ease.
