Nubit's BitVM IDE has brought a significant breakthrough to the programmability and privacy of the Bitcoin ecosystem, providing an intuitive and efficient development experience.

Recently, following the release of the first BitVM formal verification research outcome, Nubit once again advanced Bitcoin's programming capability by completing and releasing the BitVM Integrated Development Environment (IDE).

This is a development tool based on BitVM that validates Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) on Bitcoin. It allows developers to experience writing zero-knowledge circuits and to efficiently and directly verify zero-knowledge proofs on the Bitcoin network. This significantly reduces the technical barriers for the Bitcoin network, demonstrating a viable new path for development that is trustless and privacy-focused.

The BitVM IDE was jointly launched by Nubit in collaboration with partners such as ZeroSync, Alpen Labs, and Citrea. As a key driver of the Bitcoin ecosystem, Nubit is evolving into a "Trustless World Computer for Bitcoin," enabling developers to leverage Bitcoin's native technology to build any application and drive widespread adoption of the Bitcoin ecosystem.

About BitVM IDE

The following content is excerpted and compiled from Nubit's official tweets and blog posts:

The BitVM IDE provides an intuitive interface that allows users to verify arbitrary computations on the Bitcoin network. Its key features include:

· Writing and testing zero-knowledge proof circuits

· Submitting and verifying ZKPs on the Bitcoin network

Compared to past methods that required significant computation and time for verification, the BitVM IDE based on Nubit technology aims to simplify and expedite the verification process, providing developers with a more intuitive experience.

For example, users can use the BitVM IDE to verify if input values satisfy a specific formula (e.g., x * y = z). The entire process is as follows:

1. Initialize Transaction: Click the "Kickoff" button to start the transaction process;

2. Submit Circuit Data: Enter the values of x, y, z and click "Assert" to submit the proof;

 · Valid Proof: Proceed to the "Payout" stage to claim Bitcoin;

 · Invalid Proof: Enter the "Disprove" stage to initiate a challenge;

3. Claim Reward: After the proof is validated, confirm the transaction and click "Payout" to receive Bitcoin;

4. Challenge Invalid Proof: If the proof is invalid, click "Disprove" to challenge it. Upon successful challenge, confirm the invalidity of the proof.

In addition, the BitVM IDE also offers real-time on-chain state tracking and session reset functionality, providing developers with a convenient development environment.

Continuous Exploration: From BitVM IDE to Goldinals

Currently, the BitVM IDE supports basic circuit verification functions (such as x * y = z) and will soon support custom circuit capabilities to further expand its applications.

For Nubit, the exploration and development of Bitcoin-native technology, the birth of Nubit DA and the BitVM IDE are just the beginning. Nubit is also developing a new asset protocol based on BitVM called Goldinals. By binding the execution proof to each transaction, Goldinals will reduce reliance on centralized indexers and support a variety of programmable asset types. This asset protocol is expected to be launched by the end of 2024. Nubit is closely collaborating with partners such as ZeroSync, Alpen Labs, and Citrea to extend the application of BitVM to a broader range of scenarios, continuously driving the programmability of the Bitcoin ecosystem.

About Nubit

Founded by Professor Yu Feng and his research team at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), Nubit is building a trust-minimized world computer for Bitcoin, enabling open scaling through Bitcoin-native technology. As one of the world's leading Bitcoin development platforms, Nubit is dedicated to providing developers with tools and solutions to drive the adoption of Bitcoin-native applications and facilitate the comprehensive development of the Bitcoin ecosystem.
