According to the PolkaWorld's Polkadot weekly report, Gavin Wood recently released a summary for 2024, believing that 2023/2024 is a watershed for Polkadot, with its core objectives undergoing significant changes. It has shifted from focusing on achieving limited product goals in the white paper to optimizing, improving stability and refining products to better meet market demands.

Technically, many major advancements were proposed and implemented in 2024; ecologically speaking, projects represented by Mythical Game are pushing Polkadot's performance to its limits; moreover, Gavin also proposed JAM in 2024 to further realize his Web3 vision. In short, 2025 is worth looking forward to. Additionally, Gavin introduced Proof-of-Personhood mechanism which will be launched gradually in 2025 aiming at becoming an antidote against generative AI posing threats towards the free world. This mechanism algorithmizes the concept of "personality", combines ZK technology protection privacy and provides trustworthy identity solutions for both Web3 and Web2.
