Foreign Media: Microsoft says it's no longer the exclusive cloud service provider for OpenAI

Microsoft said on Tuesday that it will no longer be the exclusive cloud service provider for OpenAI, but will still have "first right of refusal" for new cloud service agreements with OpenAI. When Microsoft invested $1 billion in OpenAI in 2019, it gained the rights to be OpenAI's exclusive cloud service provider. Since then, as Microsoft continued to provide funding for this startup company, both companies have been cooperating to build data center supercomputers to train OpenAI's models. Microsoft stated on Tuesday that it still retains the exclusive rights to resell OpenAI models on its Azure cloud platform and reuse OpenAI intellectual property in its own products.
