Sources: Trump believes it is necessary to destroy Fordow, but has not made a final decision on striking Iran

According to CBS, multiple sources have revealed that U.S. President Trump has been briefed on the pros and cons of bombing Iran’s most secure nuclear facility, Fordow. His view is that, due to the risk of weapon production in a relatively short period, it is necessary to destroy the facility. One source stated, “Trump believes there aren’t many options. Completing the mission means destroying Fordow.” On Wednesday, a senior intelligence source and a Pentagon official said that Trump approved a plan for a strike on Iran on Tuesday night, but has not yet made a final decision on whether to attack the country and formally join Israel’s airstrikes. Sources indicated that Trump is willing to involve the U.S. in the operation if that is what it takes to destroy the facility. As of Thursday morning, he was still weighing his options and had not made a clear decision. Sources also said that one option Trump considered was allowing Iran to shut down Fordow on its own, if Iranian leaders were willing.
