Iranian Foreign Ministry: The United States Has "Betrayed Diplomacy in the Diplomatic Process" and Must Bear Full Responsibility

According to a statement released by Iran's Tasnim News Agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry declared that the United States' attack on Iran's nuclear facilities on Sunday marks the launch of "a dangerous war" against Iran. The ministry's statement said, "The international community should not forget that it was the United States that betrayed diplomacy during the diplomatic process." The statement described Israel as "genocidal and lawless," and accused the United States of "waging a dangerous war against Iran." It emphasized that the attack violated the United Nations Charter and international law, and that the U.S. government must bear full responsibility for the grave consequences and horrific impact of this heinous crime. The ministry warned that Iran has every right to firmly resist U.S. military aggression and the crimes committed by this regime, and to defend its national sovereignty and interests by all necessary means. In addition, the Iranian Foreign Ministry urged the United Nations and its affiliated agencies, including the International Atomic Energy Agency, to urgently address this blatant criminal act, and called on the UN Security Council to convene an emergency meeting to condemn the attack.
