American Author: Trump Claims He Was the One Who Leaked to The New York Times About Musk's "Drug Use"

According to a report by Jinse Finance, citing the UK’s Independent on July 3, American author Michael Wolff claims that U.S. President Trump said he personally provided The New York Times with information about Elon Musk’s alleged drug use. Previously, The New York Times published an article stating that Musk had used multiple illegal substances in 2024, a claim Musk himself has denied. On July 2 local time, Wolff said in a podcast interview with The Daily Beast that Trump has recently called acquaintances multiple times to complain about Musk, repeatedly asking, “Do you think Musk is crazy?” According to Wolff, his experience writing a Trump White House biography allowed him to meet many people who are in regular contact with Trump. These individuals said that Trump has repeatedly mentioned Musk’s “long-term drug use” during phone calls. When The New York Times was mentioned, Trump reportedly said, “In fact, we were the ones who leaked the news about Musk’s drug use to The New York Times.” (Global Times)
