Foresight News reported that the Ethereum Foundation stated in a post that since 2018, it has supported privacy research and development through the PSE team. The team has established more than 50 open-source projects and released core primitives such as Semaphore (anonymous signaling), MACI (private voting), zkEmail, TLSNotary (pioneering zkTLS), and Anon Aadhaar (private national ID), among others.
The Ethereum Foundation is expanding its privacy efforts. PSE will continue to focus on early-stage R&D as a team, led by Andy, to build new privacy projects. Additionally, a privacy cluster consisting of 47 industry leaders has been established to drive the development and application of privacy technologies, coordinated by Igor Barinov. These efforts include initiatives such as private read/write, private proofs, private identity, privacy experience, and the Institutional Privacy Task Force (IPTF), as well as a brand-new privacy-preserving wallet reference implementation, Kohaku.
