Trump Re-Files Defamation Lawsuit Against The New York Times

Jinse Finance reported that U.S. President Trump once again filed a defamation lawsuit against The New York Times and several journalists on Thursday local time, accusing the media outlet of attempting to undermine his 2024 campaign and damage his business reputation. Previously, a federal judge dismissed his initial lawsuit on the grounds that the complaint was lengthy and rambling. The revised complaint, submitted on Thursday evening, was reduced to 40 pages, less than half the length of the original. Michael S. Schmidt, a New York Times reporter who was listed as a defendant in the original complaint, has been removed from the defendant list. Also deleted were a large number of lengthy praises for Trump, such as describing his 2024 election victory as "the greatest personal and political achievement in American history." Consistent with the initial complaint, the revised complaint still seeks $15 billion in damages.
