ChainCatcher News, TRON officially announced that the pre-release version of java-tron v4.8.1 has been officially launched on the Nile testnet. As this is a mandatory upgrade, all Nile nodes are urged to complete the update as soon as possible.
This upgrade covers several key modules including consensus core, virtual machine, network, event service, and API, aiming to further enhance the overall capabilities of the TRON network in terms of performance, security, and cross-architecture compatibility.
According to the official website of the Nile testnet, this upgrade comprehensively improves the TRON network's performance in architecture compatibility, virtual machine security, network stability, event and API query capabilities, and development toolchain: added support for ARM architecture, introduced TIP-6780 to adjust the SELFDESTRUCT instruction, optimized P2P communication and event queries, expanded block receipt and SR vote query interfaces, and upgraded the toolchain to further enhance the system's overall performance and maintainability.
It should be noted that the new proposal added in the Nile testnet GreatVoyage-v4.8.1 requires on-chain governance voting before it can take effect on the testnet. Whether it will be enabled on the mainnet in the future will depend on the progress of the upgrade and the results of governance.
