Ethereum has finally broken out of its multi-week consolidation structure, with ETH now trading just below the $2.5K level after breaking through several key resistance areas. The move has clearly improved Ethereum’s higher-timeframe structure, although the rally has been very strong and ETH is now facing a major resistance zone. ✅ ETH’s Daily Structure Turns Bullish Looking at the daily chart, Ethereum’s structure has improved significantly. For much of the summer, ETH remained trapped between roughly $1.5K and $2K while trading inside a descending channel. That changed after ETH broke above the upper trendline, the $2.1K resistance zone, as well as the 100-day and 200-day moving averages. This was an important shift in the market structure and opened the door for the strong move that followed. ETH then pushed aggressively toward $2.5K and is currently trading around $2.49K, with price testing the major resistance zone between approximately $2.45K and $2.5K. This is an important area to watch because it has previously acted as major resistance. ETH is also testing it after a very steep vertical advance, meaning some consolidation or pullback would not be surprising. If ETH can achieve a sustained daily breakout above $2.5K, the bullish setup could strengthen further and put the next major resistance region around $3.3K back into focus. On the other hand, the $2.1K area has now become the first major support zone after previously acting as resistance. If the correction goes deeper, ETH could revisit the $1.9K region, which previously served as an important consolidation area. The $1.5K zone remains the major structural support on the chart, although a move back toward that level would mean a significant deterioration from the current setup. ✅ What the 4-Hour Chart Says The 4-hour chart gives a better view of how the breakout developed. $ETH had been moving sideways around the $1.85K-$1.9K region while gradually pushing toward the rising trendline near $2K. Once the breakout happened, price expanded aggressively, taking ETH through the $2.1K resistance zone before moving toward $2.5K. The previous consolidation area around $1.85K-$1.9K is now the clearest lower support zone. Above that, the $2.1K level remains the main breakout-support region. As long as ETH continues to hold comfortably above $2.1K, the 4-hour structure remains strongly bullish. However, momentum has cooled from the initial breakout. The 4-hour RSI moved into extremely overbought territory during ETH’s vertical rally before falling back toward 70. That cooldown is not necessarily bearish. In fact, it is healthier than keeping the RSI at extreme levels. Still, it suggests ETH could spend some time consolidating before making another serious attempt at breaking higher. For now, the $2.5K resistance remains the level bulls need to clear. Failure to break and hold above this zone could trigger a retracement toward $2.1K. If ETH also loses $2.1K, attention would likely shift back toward the $1.85K-$1.9K breakout base. ✅ A major exchange Premium Index Adds an Important Signal The Ethereum Premium Index gives the current rally another interesting angle. The metric remained predominantly negative during much of ETH’s recent recovery, suggesting that the price increase was not consistently supported by strong US-based spot demand. Recently, however, the premium recovered sharply from deeply negative readings and is now moving closer to the neutral line while ETH trades around the $2.4K-$2.5K area. This is a constructive development because the deterioration in the Premium appears to be reversing as Ethereum pushes higher. Still, the index has not clearly entered sustained positive territory based on the provided chart. This means the rally does not yet have the strongest confirmation of aggressive US spot-market buying. A decisive move into positive territory, especially if ETH continues holding above the $2.4K-$2.5K resistance zone, would provide stronger confirmation that the breakout can continue. Meanwhile, if the premium starts deteriorating again while ETH gets rejected from the current resistance area, the chances of a short-term correction would increase. ✅ What Comes Next for ETH? Ethereum’s structure is clearly stronger after the breakout, but the $2.5K area remains the immediate test. A clean break above this resistance could open the way toward the $3.3K region, while $2.1K is now the key support that bulls need to defend. For now, the setup remains bullish as long as $ETH stays above the major breakout levels. However, after such a strong move, some consolidation or a pullback would not be unusual before the next major leg higher.
