BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing protocol that enables users to distribute large files across the internet. The protocol was created by Bram Cohen in 2001 and has since become one of the most popular methods of sharing files online. BitTorrent was acquired by Justin Sun in 2020. Though BitTorrent has been around for a long time, it recently introduced a new cryptocurrency called BTT in 2019.
BitTorrent works by breaking down a file into smaller pieces and distributing these pieces across multiple computers. When a user downloads a file, the BitTorrent client software connects to other users who have the same file and downloads different pieces of the file from each user. This not only makes downloads faster, but it also reduces the load on any single server and eliminates the risk of single point of failure. BTT is used as a means of exchange on the network, allowing users to pay for faster download speeds and other premium features.
BTT has a total supply of 990,000,000,000,000 and a circulating supply of 951,421,714,286,000.
