First announced in August 2024, BGSOL is designed to provide Solana (SOL) holders with a more flexible alternative to traditional staking. Normally, staking SOL requires users to lock their tokens for a fixed period, preventing them from trading or using their assets. BGSOL eliminates this limitation by allowing users to stake SOL while maintaining liquidity. Stakers receive BGSOL tokens, which represent their staked SOL and continue to earn staking rewards. This model aligns with a broader industry trend where exchanges offer liquid staking solutions to encourage network security participation without restricting asset access.
How Bitget SOL Works
BGSOL functions as a tokenized version of staked SOL, allowing users to stake SOL on Bitget and receive BGSOL tokens in return.
