Iran claims ceasefire agreement was violated, US futures fluctuateJinse Finance reported that on April 9, Iran stated that several terms of its ceasefire agreement with the United States had been violated, highlighting market fragility. U.S. stock index futures fluctuated, and oil prices gave back part of Wednesday’s decline. The market opened cautiously on Thursday, with S&P 500 futures falling 0.1%. Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said that three terms of the ceasefire plan had been breached so far. On Wednesday, optimism that the U.S.-Iran ceasefire agreement could ease crude oil transportation and support economic growth drove global stock markets broadly higher.

Due to tight energy supply, Singapore government agencies are imposing restrictions on air conditioning use.Golden Ten Data reported on April 9 that due to Middle East conflicts leading to global energy supply tensions, Singapore government agencies will take measures to reduce electricity consumption in order to enhance energy resilience. In a statement released on Wednesday, the country’s National Environment Agency announced that immediate measures include setting air conditioning temperatures to 25 degrees Celsius or higher, controlling the operating hours of air conditioning, lighting, and elevators, as well as unplugging or shutting off non-essential devices when not in use. Singapore had previously warned that, as a result of extensive disruptions to Middle East oil and natural gas production and transportation, fuel prices are expected to remain high for the foreseeable future and electricity prices will rise in the coming months.
