Three vessels entered the Strait of Hormuz along the coast of OmanGolden Ten Data reported on April 3 that, according to satellite signals, on April 2 local time, three vessels claiming to be registered in Oman (two oil tankers and one liquefied natural gas carrier) sailed eastwards along the country's coastline into the Strait of Hormuz. These three vessels have drawn particular attention because they are currently the largest tanker types, and the LNG carrier would be the first to depart the Gulf since the outbreak of war. At around 9:30 a.m. London time, the three vessels stopped automatically transmitting their location signals as they were approaching or had just passed the tip of Oman's Musandam Peninsula, which juts north into the Strait. The route taken by these three ships (indicated in orange in the diagram) is south of the Iranian shipping lanes and far from the much more northerly route (indicated in yellow) chosen by most ships in recent days between Iran's Larak Island and Qeshm Island. However, this route is shallower and features tighter curves, which may not be suitable for the largest oil tankers to navigate.
