The Summit: a Gathering of the Onchain Gaming Community
Roughly two weeks ago, on the 25th and 26th of May in Lisbon, we held ‘The Summit‘, a gathering focused on onchain game developers, founders, and community members.
Fifty four individuals from 17+ teams attended: Playmint, Citadel, Lattice, Mithraeum, AW House, Briq, Aperture Labs, Worldrunning.guide, Cometh, Realms, Cartridge, Mask Network, Great Wyrm, ID Theory, Matchbox DAO, CafeCosmos, Caldera, Matterlabs, Conquest, Poseidon ZKP, Dip, and other great minds.
The Summit's goal was to curate a space for the builders of onchain games today to share their learnings, debate and discuss critical themes such as indexing, application frameworks, developer standards, monetization, onchain value propositions, and governance.
A key part of coming together was to share what we were working on as a community, what was on our minds, lessons we’ve learned, and more. Here are the recordings of the presentations presented by community members on the first day:
Jay Springett – Worlds their History Done Quick
Citadel – Automatic Indexing with Codemods
Briq – Building with Briq
Playmint – Downstream - A Composable MMO
Cometh – Lessons learned after two years of onchain games
Mithraeum – On-chain Gaming: Principles for Building Viable Systems
1kx – Onchain Games in History
Cartridge – Building with Dojo
What’s next
We will be looking to do more as a group ✌️
At 1kx, we’re excited to invest in onchain games, playtest alpha releases, connect teams with grants programs, and help foster the best community for builders.
If you are building an onchain game and want to join a core community to get feedback from, collaborate with, or attend future onchain gaming events. Get in touch.
