Some Mt. Gox creditors received an email from the bankruptcy trustee: The trustee plans to start paying debts to creditors soon
On November 22nd, according to emails received by some Mt. Gox creditors from the bankruptcy trustee, the trustee plans to start repaying debts to creditors soon and is working to begin cash repayments in 2023. However, due to the large number of creditors who will receive repayment, the different types of repayment, and the varying preparation and processing times required, repayment will continue until 2024.
Previously, in September of this year, the repayment deadline for Mt. Gox's trustee was postponed from October 31, 2023 to October 31, 2024. However, for creditors who have provided the required information, repayment will begin gradually at the end of this year. The Mt. Gox trustee had originally planned to make basic, mid-term, and early one-time repayments before the October 31 deadline this year, distributing the unknown portion of its holdings of 142,000 BTC ($3.9 billion), 143,000 BCH ($17.9 million), and 69 billion yen ($523 million).
